Carla’s nursing and leadership experience ranges from acute care in transplant services, nephrology/hepatology to special needs children then to hospice and palliative care in 2010. She has worked in Mozambique, Africa for the last 4 years in the area of palliative/end of life care and community faith nursing. She has partnered with the local community and medical staff to develop a district level palliative care program and is currently in the initial stages of developing a palliative care platform at a provincial level. Her passion is to serve and educate at an international level to encourage dignity and a holistic approach in the area of end of life and community health.
Rev. Barry Schwartz
Reverend Barry Schwartz is an Ordained Interfaith Minister and retired Chaplain with Hospice of the Valley. He has served as a CPE at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center and is a Member-At-Large of the Public Policy Commission-Arizona Faith Network. He has over 30 years of success as an executive in the television and media sales business such as ABC, CBS, the NBA and FOX. Named by Advertising Age as one of the 100 Best & Brightest media sales reps and was a 2008 Cambridge Who's Who of media professionals and entrepreneurs.
Sally Mulready MA, LMFT . Originally licensed in California and currently in Arizona, Sally has over 35 years experience working with children, teens, parents, couples and individuals in multiple treatment settings: inpatient, RTC, out patient clinics and private practice, including 15 years specializing in Bereavement at Hospice of the Valley here in AZ. She enjoys use of play, art, visualization, story telling and mindfulness in her therapy with individuals and groups. Currently she has five grandchildren under age 6 who keep her on her toes
Dr. Yasaman Tasalloti
Dr. Yasaman Tasalloti provides an alternative medical approach for individuals managing chronic health concerns. She places an emphasis on the mental and emotional aspects of disease and is passionate about uncovering the toxic thought patterns and belief systems that are contributing to a state of imbalance inside of the body. Using functional testing methods, natural medicines, and a deep listening approach, she helps her patients overcome their health concerns. She is passionate about growth and personal development and enjoys helping her patients achieve balance in all areas of their lives.
Tess Mosko Scherer
ARTIST AND LIFE COACH
Tess Mosko Scherer combines her interest and study of the human psyche, specifically the light and shadow theories of Carl Jung into her art. Her work excavates human emotions and archetypal energies that prevail in our human nature. She has a diverse background in the arts and co-founded Scherer Gallery in 1983 representing international contemporary artists, specializing in glass art until 2006. Since 2012, she has served on the board of the Arizona Artists Guild currently as President, was the Artistic Director of Shemer Art Center and Museum, is a member artist and co-president of the eye lounge collective gallery. Mosko Scherer is the Director of Curriculum and Facilitation for the of the World Academy for the Future of Woman, serves on the advisory board and is a program facilitator in China and Bangladesh. She was named one of the ‘100 Creatives’ by the Phoenix New Times in 2016.
Ian has a passion for singing and songwriting that meets people where they are in their journey of life whether young or old. He has a deep desire to see the poor among us understand their value and worth especially amongst the youth. He currently serves in Mozambique, Africa with his wife and three sons in the areas of medical care and community development.

Sherry is a certified hospice and palliative care LPN, she currently works with Aegis Hospice as an End of Life Doula and owns her own private practice Evolutionary Journeys, where she does public education on end of life. Sherry has 14 years experience with Hospice and became an End of Life Doula in 2017 when she took her training through NPEC. Sherry has dedicated herself to the Death Positive world and commits herself to bringing a good death to each client and family through education, non pharmological interventions and supportive presence.
Alex J. Hermosillo
MASTERY OF ENERGY HEALING CENTER
Alex Hermosillo is the founder of the Mastery of Energy Healing Center located in Phoenix, AZ. He has performed energy healing services for fifteen years and is a member of the ABMP. Alex has traveled extensively, speaking and leading meditations, including at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America, International Association for Near-Death Studies, and Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. He is the author of “A True Story of Hope, Healing and Miracles.”
Michael Desiderio has an associate’s degree in applied science, a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and a master’s degree in business. For the past 12 years Michael has served as the Executive Director for an association of business schools, representing over 200 schools in nearly 40 countries. He clearly believes in education but also happily concedes that education without context is not the best formula for success. Michael feels privileged to have a career which has provided him with roles ranging from engineering through executive management, from consultant to award winning speaker. His 35 years of professional context, coupled with his formal education, have taught him humility, the value of asking good questions, and that yes, at some point you better know something worth sharing!
Alyssa Spencer has been instructing wellness classes for over 34 years and is the creator and owner of the award winning ReBarre Studio Method. She has consulted in the wellness space for major Fortune 500 Companies such as Merrill Lynch, Mayo Clinic, Johnson & Johnson, Bristol-Myers Squibb and AT&Tholds certifications in a variety of wellness modalities including Yoga, Senior Fitness, Pilates and Group Fitness. Her passion for making fitness accessible to all ages, shapes and sizes is infectious. She resides in Scottsdale and also works full time in the Healthcare Finance sector for American Express.
Since 2001, Lisa has been the Executive Director of the New Song Center for Grieving Children. Prior to entering the not for profit sector, she was an executive in media, advertising, worked at a local ad agency as Senior Vice President and then moved to Cox Communications Media division. Her career path also includes roles as a business development specialist for an electric utility and as a senior marketing director for a regional medical center; both positions in Colorado prior to relocating to Arizona.

Marguerite has been employed by Hospice of the Valley for 23 years, working as Registered Nurse with after hours. For the past 11 years she has been working as Board Certified Chaplain with the after hours team.
She has two sons and three grandchildren. Marguerite enjoys traveling, crafts and knitting.
Kenneth is an ordained and licensed minister. He has been providing spiritual care for 35 years and has spent the last 14 years as a Hospice Chaplain. He has been married to his wonderful wife for over 39 years, and has 2 married children and 5 grandchildren. He spends his weekends hiking and since he's from Louisiana, gumbo and fried catfish are his favorite.

Nancy has taught Hot Yoga, Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra. Her passion is Yoga Nidra. She feels Yoga Nidra is the most healing, connecting Mind, Body and Spirit. Nancy’s husband was a Hospice patient four years ago. They both found the organization a true blessing and their nurse sent to them from heaven.
