About Renew and Retreat
The Phoenix Chapter of HPNA will be hosting a Hospice and Palliative Professionals Refresh and Retreat on November 1-3, 2019 to kick-off National Hospice and Palliative Care Month. The objective for the retreat is to offer tools to clinicians that will tackle the physical, behavioral and psychological demands associated with the nature of working in hospice and palliative care.
The needs of hospice and palliative professionals must be supported because they undergo such physical and psychological effects related to caring for dying patients and their loved ones. With a target toward all roles within the Hospice and Palliative network, this retreat will emphasize educational techniques that captivate nursing resilience and self-care.
We wish to provide a place of sanctuary, wellness, and healing that will refresh, enlighten and re-energizing the mind, body and soul of those who attend. Since 1951, the Franciscan Renewal Center — affectionately known as the “Casa de Paz y Bien” or simply “the Casa” — has existed in Arizona, to offer spiritual growth, healing, and transformation that moves lives into the service of others. We couldn't think of a more suitable venue.
Our goal is to encourage collaboration and cultivate professional support, to raise awareness and inspire self-reflection, to promote relaxation and reduce stress, and to provide self-care activities that will foster resilience.
